Angelina Jolie tearful as she receives honorary Oscar for humanitarian work

Angelina Jolie didn't have to rehearse a single line for her latest Oscar.
Instead, the mum-of-six was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her own efforts in helping others.
The A-list star who was joined on the red carpet by her clean-shaven husband Brad Pitt and eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, appeared tearful as she received the award by director George Lucas.
Jolie, who revealed earlier this year that she had undergone a double mastectomy to reduce her risk of breast cancer, was presented with the award to recognise her tireless campaigning for issues including aid for refugees, help for women victims of sexual violence, especially in Africa, and the mistreatment of children in Syria.
The 38-year-old stole the show in a full length, black gown complimented perfectly by her husband and son's smart tuxedos.
It was a rare outing for Maddox, who celebrated his 12th birthday in August.
The busy mum, who already has a best supporting actress Oscar, is currently working on her second film as a director, Unbroken.
The film is based on the true story of a soldier in World War II who survived a 47-day raft journey in the Pacific Ocean only to end up in a Japanese Prisoner of War Camp.
She was honoured at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' annual Governors Awards, in Los Angeles, alongside Steve Martin, Angela Lansbury and Italian costume designer, Pietro Tosi.
Lansbury, who is best known for her Jessica Fletcher role in Murder, She Wrote, was presented with her own award by film historian Robert Osborne.
It was the 88 year olds first Oscar despite being nominated three times for the best supporting actress gong.
