British kickboxer jailed for stabbing US Marine to death in Thailand

British kickboxer jailed for Thai murder of US Marine

Briton Lee Aldhouse has been jailed for 25 years for the murder of former US Marine Dashawn Longfellow

A British kickboxer, who fought under the nickname ‘Pitbull’, has been jailed for 25 years for the murder of a former US Marine in Thailand.
Lee Aldhouse, 30, had earlier admitted stabbing to death 23-year-old Dashawn Longfellow in 2010 following a brawl at a Phuket bar.
He pleaded guilty in an attempt to avoid execution or a life sentence and was jailed today at the Phuket provincial court.
The Birmingham man was arrested at Heathrow Airport after fleeing the resort island and was extradited last year.
Relatives of Mr Longfellow, who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, said ‘he doesn’t deserve to live’.

‘It’s not enough. He doesn’t deserve to get out in 25 years,’ his sister SabrĂ© Anderson wrote on Facebook.
‘I hope someone kills him slowly and painful in prison so he can never ever do this to another family.’
Another sister, Marquis Longfellow, wrote: ‘Lee took the life of our hero and because of his actions our family will never be able to see the light in my brother’s eyes or the smile on his face.
‘Don’t get me wrong 25 years is better than nothing but it damn sure is not long enough for a man who intentionally took the life of an American hero for no other reason than a bruised ego.’
Aldhouse, a semi-professional kickboxer, had been living on-and-off in Phuket, where Mr Longfellow was also studying the sport.
After sentencing he said: ‘I’m going to take further advice and see if I can appeal and get this lowered.’
