A Sri Lankan elderly woman whp was declared dead after an accident turned up on the alms-giving day that marked the seventh day of her “death", ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ reported.
In a road accident in the Rathmuthugala area around 3.30am on November 8, it was declared that an elderly woman had died and her body was at the morgue of the Ragama hospital.
Ten out of her eleven children identified the body to be their mother’s and after a postmortem, the body was handed over to them by the hospital authorities.
Since her death, the family members were holding alms-giving day after seven days on November 15 when the dead woman turned up at home, stunning everyone at the home.
She told them that when she went to the Colombo National Hospital to seek treatment, doctors there admitted her and discharged her on November 15.
The Kadawatha police will present the old woman and her ten children before the court to resolve the matter of burying the remains of another woman.
