Videos surface showing Saudi residents coping with wet weather
A Pakistani man thought of a creative way to move on flooded streets in
Saudi Arabia by tying boards of cork together and surfing slowly through
the water, a scene reminiscent of Gondola trips in the beautiful
Italian city of Venice.
Although the tool he used is primitive compared to the Gondola, the man appeared comfortable and happy as he oared his way into the water in the capital Riyadh.
A YouTube film published in Ajel newspaper showed the man and his Gondola attracted the attention of passers-by and motorists driving their cars slowly past him.
More video after the cut
A Saudi farmer ventured through floods in the rain-lashed Gulf Kingdom to save his camels and take them back to the farm.
Saudi newspapers published a YouTube film showing the farmer and a worker pushing many camels through the flooded roads after pasturing in a nearby area.
It was not clear where the film was shot in Saudi Arabia, where scores of people have been killed or injured in the floods.
Jet-ski on flooded street in Saudi (or UAE)?
A Saudi man took advantage of heavy rain that lashed most parts of the
Gulf Kingdom this week to practice his jet ski-riding hobby on a key
street in the capital Riyadh.
A brief YouTube film showed the man was cruising the water which appeared to have formed a small lagoon around power pylons in a residential area.
However, some viewers have raised doubts about whether the video was shot in the UAE or Saudi, saying they have spotted a UAE flag in the background.
Riyadh, with a population of more than five million, was one of the areas worst hit by flash rain in the Kingdom.
