TOP 10 Young Talents in Football.

10. Kurt Zouma
The 19-year-old defender has been well-known to Football Manager aficionados for several years now, but as the transfer speculation mounts, wider familiarity is growing.
And it won’t be long before Zouma is a household name.
More pics aftet the cut

9. Alen Halilovic
He’s a fully fledged Croatia international, a regular for his club, and a regular in features professing to find the ‘next Messi’.

8. Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian international is targeting a place in Belgium’s stacked squad for next summer’s World Cup, and he’s going the right way about it.
The 6ft 3in forward marries his unique physical gifts with a eye for goal – but he’s not just a target man. Against West Ham we saw his full repertoire – goals, lay-offs, through balls, flick-ons.

7. Julian Draxler
He’s not too familiar to Premier League watchers, but flashed his ability for Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge last week.
He’s got nine Germany caps, and should be on the plane to Brazil. Plenty of competition though – see Ozil, Kroos, Muller, Gotze, etc.

6. Thibaut Courtois
You have to be a pretty good goalkeeper to crack the top 10 – keepers don’t usually start, let alone reach anywhere close to peak performance level before age 28 – but Courtois is the exception.

5. Mario Gotze
Gotze is one of the “best talents that Germany’s ever had.” Quite a statement coming from national team legend Matthias Sammer.
And as if one Gotze wasn’t enough for German football, his younger brother Felix currently plays for the Dortmund under-15 team.

4. Raphael Varane
A mainstay under Jose Mourinho last season, Varane has found first-team football harder to come by under Carlo Ancelotti. Despite just four La Liga appearances, he remains one of the world’s best young talents.

3. Marco Verratti
Verratti, or the ‘next Pirlo’, made over 100 league appearances in two of Europe’s top leagues before his 21st birthday.

Currently linked with a return to Italy, Manchester United were also thought to be interested in the PSG star.

2. Paul Pogba
Manchester United’s loss is clearly Juve’s gain, and Pogba seems to have all the attributes to dominate European football’s midfield for the next decade.
Effortless excellence.

1. Neymar
There was only ever one player under consideration for the number one spot. Still eligible – just – this was be Neymar’s final year on these kinds of top 10 youngsters lists.
