The Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC) and Universal Pictures today confirmed that filming for Fast & Furious 7 will take place in Abu Dhabi beginning this April.Fast & Furious 7 is the latest major Hollywood production to be filmed in Abu Dhabi, attracted by the Emirate’s unique locations, twofour54 intaj’s experienced crew and ADFC’s production incentive, which comes in the form of a 30 per cent rebate on a qualifying spend in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Filming of the next chapter in the highly anticipated action-thriller series, which is one of the highest-grossing movie franchises of all time, commenced in November 2013 when a visual effects crew captured helicopter shots, stunt footage and a variety of visual effects scenes at some of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic landmarks.
In April, actor/producer Vin Diesel, as well as actors Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, join the crew in Abu Dhabi to continue production. twofour54 intaj will serve as the UAE producer of the film.

The financial incentive that the Fast & Furious franchise is benefitting from is the first of its kind in the region and comprises a 30 per cent rebate on all production expenses. The incentive was launched by ADFC, with the aim of accelerating Abu Dhabi as the first choice for production and post-production services in the region. Fast & Furious7 is scheduled for release in April 2015.
The Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC) is part of twofour54, the commercial arm of the Media Zone Authority-Abu Dhabi. It was established in 2009 with a mandate to support the development of Abu Dhabi’s rapidly growing film & television industry, and to promote the Emirate as a location for production and filming.
This is one aspect of twofour54’s wider aim of supporting in the development of a sustainable Arabic media industry and establishing Abu Dhabi as a regional center of excellence for Arabic content creation.
