A woman in California regularly noticed a pregnant lady and her son begging on the streetside as she filled gas at a station.
Then one fine day, she noticed a man drive up in a Mercedes Benz up to the begging duo and pick them up and drive away.
The woman stopped pumping gas and followed the trio in her car, reports Daily Mail.
When she was crossing the relatively new and shiny Mercedes, she
noticed that the trio were seated in the front and counting their money
and laughing away.
She continued trailing them, only to see the Mercedes driver pull up on a side street and drop the begging duo there.
The pregnant woman and her son put up a placard that said 'Please help,' and started begging again.
A lot of people came up to help the sorry-looking duo.
The woman started clicking images of the beggars. She also clicked
images of the luxury car and driver when he came to pick them up again.
The woman was outraged and approached a news station, KGTV, and gave them information about the couple and the child.
During investigation it emerged that the luxury car costs anywhere between $51,000 and $100,000.
The car was registered in the name of a woman with an apartment complex address, where rent costs around $2,500 per month.
Further research revealed that the family had recently moved away without leaving any forwarding address.
Police officials were unable to identify the woman, the child or the man.
