Al Sharpton’s Daughter Sues NYC For $5M Over “Sprained Ankle,” Later Hikes Up A Mountain!
Al Sharpton’s daughter, Dominique Sharpton, dug herself into a hole after she posted a victorious photo of herself completing a difficult mountain climb in Bali, Indonesia — at the same time, she’s suing New York City in a $5 million lawsuit concerning a “sprained ankle,” The New York Post reports.
Sharpton, 28, claims that she “still suffers” debilitating pain after twisting her ankle due to a street crack in Lower Manhattan last year. According to the lawsuit, she was “severely injured, bruised and wounded.” The sprained ankle, the April 29 case said, will continue to cause Sharpton physical pain “for some time.”
Yet Sharpton was able to climb up to the top of an Indonesian mountain seemingly unfazed by her “sprained ankle.”
“We hiked UP the mountain, over the clouds… into the SUNRISE,” the caption under the incriminating Instagram photo said. “One of the most beautiful sites ever. And YES I ALMOST DIED GETTING UP THERE LOL. #Balidays we made it, WHEW. “It is starting to look like Tawana Brawley is orchestrating the Sharpton trial strategy,” quipped CNN legal analyst Paul Callan. “It graphically demonstrates bad judgment and good feet. It all adds up to no case.”
This isn’t the first time Sharpton got a side-eye. After the Oct. 2 tumble, Sharpton was spotted in December walking for the National Action Network’s Justice for All march in Washington, DC. And despite having “permanent physical pain,” Sharpton posted photos of herself in high heels and climbing a ladder to decorate a Christmas tree in the same month.
“Ms. Sharpton’s decision to climb a mountain in Bali and then post an incriminating photo on Twitter is a gift to the defense,” Callan said.
Sharpton’s legal team, on the other hand, still believes she has a case: “Ms. Sharpton did sustain multiple ligament and tendon tears in her ankle” John Elefterakis, Sharpton’s lawyer, said. She may have climbed a mountain, Elefterakis added, but this does not mean she’s back to pre-accident form.
I don’t know. She may have gotten away with the high heels and ladder climbing, but climbing up a big ol’ mountain on a sprained ankle? Good luck with that one Sharpton.
