A Manhattan nightclub co-owned by Michael Strahan and Damon Dash is in trouble for crossing the line of decency, the National Enquirer reports. The Leonora, a Manhattan hotspot, was caught allowing girls to strip nude and engage in “lewd acts,” according to charges. Legal documents accuse the club of “permitting lewd and indecent conduct.”
What constitutes a lewd act, according to the State of New York Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control? Serving up “topless entertainment” and “lap dancing,” for starters. The incident, which reportedly took place on March 19, makes the venue in violation of its operating license.A club spokesman, Bruce David Lynn, has shared his version of the story, saying the stripping allegations are actually due to two “overzealous girls who took their tops off.”
Lynn also says that Strahan has nothing to do with the day-to-day operations of the club and is basically a silent partner. “Yes, he’s supportive of The Leonora,” Lynn says, adding that the morning show host has “very minimal” involvement with the club. “He came early on to check out the space, and he really liked it.”
Interestingly, he did not make a similar statement about Dash, implying that the former Roc-A-Fella boss is a more active investor than Strahan. Considering all the legal drama Dash is in the middle of right now, this is the last thing he needs on his plate.
