A high school teacher in Louisiana was arrested yesterday after allegedly providing marijuana-laced brownies to two female students.
Camille Brennan, a 29-year-old New
Orleans resident, was busted on two counts of contributing to the
delinquency of a minor and two counts of narcotics distribution for
allegedly providing the baked goods to students at Archbishop Hannan
High School.
According to the St. Tammany Parish
Sheriff’s Office, Brennan, an English teacher, handed out the
marijuana-laced brownies on May 1. Investigators learned of the incident
when the parents of one girl–as well as the Catholic school’s
principal–contacted cops later that evening.
When questioned by deputies, Brennan
reportedly admitted to giving the teens the brownies. After police
opened an investigation, Brennan resigned her teaching post, and the
school’s principal, Father Charles Latour, wrote parents to assure them
that, “The care and safety of your sons and daughters is a priority I
hold sacred.”
Maybe she just wanted the girls to relax a little bit? We all know finals can be stressful.[via The Smoking Gun]
