According to UK Daily Mail
A doctor was accused last night of killing a woman who died from massive blood loss after travelling to the UK for an abortion.
Dr
Adedayo Adedeji, 62, will be charged with the manslaughter of the
32-year-old woman because of his alleged gross negligence three years
ago.
The
medic will appear in the dock alongside two nurse colleagues, Gemma
Pullen, 31, and Margaret Miller, 54, who face the same charge.
All
three were employees at a West London clinic where the woman underwent
an abortion after travelling to London from Dublin in January 2012.
She collapsed several hours later while travelling in a taxi in Slough, Berkshire, and died of ‘extensive internal bleeding’.
Speaking later, her husband said the couple were refused help by healthcare workers in Ireland after they sought a termination.
The
victim had been diagnosed with a condition which can carry an elevated
risk of miscarriage and other complications, but was not considered to
be life-threatening.
The man and woman – who was of African origin – were foreign nationals living in Ireland under student visas.
One year later Scotland Yard murder squad detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death.
