When a Georgia high-school cheerleader started flipping backward at her
school's homecoming football game, she kept going for 34 seconds --
until she had reportedly broken a world record.
Westlake High School's Mikayla Clark broke the Guinness World Record for most consecutive back handsprings,reported today.
She flipped 44 times, breaking the previous record of 36, according to
WSB-TV. She performed her gymnastic feat at the Atlanta school's
homecoming football game.
Clark's coach said the 16-year-old had been practicing since the start
of the football season, and that she expected a certificate from
Guinness World Records to come this week, according to WSB-TV.
