Gang caught smuggling in 13kg drugs

4 Iranians and a Pakistani have confessed to the crime


Sharjah Police successfully thwarted an attempt by a gang to smuggle in 13kilograms of narcotic substances.

The four Iranians were intercepted when they attempted to ship in the drugs to be delivered to a resident here.

The fifth person, a Pakistani, who owned the drugs, was also arrested later.

All five have confessed to the crime.

They have been referred to the Public Prosecution.

Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak, Deputy Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police praised the coordination between officials of the UAE and other Gulf and Arab countries, which has led to a decline in drug smuggling cases.
