On-loan Liverpool forward Victor Moses was recognized for his
international achievements during 2013 with the Nigerian Footballer of
the Year award on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old took the honour ahead of Chelsea midfielder and Super Eagles teammate John Obi Mikel, and compatriot Sunday Mba.
Moses was an integral member of the Nigerian team which triumphed at the Africa Cup of Nations in February of this year, scoring twice in the continental tournament.
The Reds’ No. 12 also played a significant role in helping his country qualify for next summer’s World Cup in Brazil, notching in their recent play-off against Ethiopia.
At domestic level, Moses was a member of the Chelsea side which scooped the UEFA Europa League at the end of 2012-13 and he found the target 10 times in all competitions last season.
Since completing a temporary move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day in September, the attacker has made nine appearances and contributed one goal.
