Plane crashes into reservoir; no survivors expected


Investigators look at the wreckage of a small passenger plane which crashed early Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Clearwater, Fla. One person is dead after a small plane en route to Florida from Chicago crashed near Tampa. Authorities say the single-engine plane crashed at about 4 am Saturday in Clearwater. According to the Clearwater Police Department, the aircraft came to a rest on the median of a six-lane street. 
 
Authorities believe there are no survivors after a small plane crashed into a reservoir in the US.

Ouray County spokeswoman Marti Whitmore says five people were believed aboard the single-engine plane.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says it crashed in Colorado on Saturday afternoon. He says he didn't yet know the cause of the accident.

Whitmore says search and rescue operations were suspended Saturday night, but no victims have been recovered. No identities have been released.

She says the aircraft crashed in up to 90 feet (27 meters) of water.
